A stunning viewpoint in Teide National Park. Stop there on your way from Teide volcano to La Esperanza forest on Tenerife.
At the observation deck, you can see layers of different volcanic deposits. You can see how layer after layer the volcano has covered the ground. Each layer is unique and has a different color.
The white layer consists of pumice, very light and porous. The black layer is made of basalt. The red layers are made of basalt picon, which has oxidized from groundwater.
